Originally from Saskatchewan, Michael moved west to study at the University of British Columbia for his Bachelor of Fine Arts followed by a course in Studio Woodworking at Okanagan College. Michael studied in Scotland at the Edinburgh College of Art, carved stone in the mountains of Italy, and completed a woodworking apprenticeship in the Faroe Islands of Denmark. Michael's bachelor’s degree focused on printmaking and stone sculpture but Michael has been focusing on his passion for wood and metalwork since Starting the studio in 2017.
